Dirty Thirty!

I was asked to make a display for a "dirty thirty" birthday party. The birthday girl likes butterflies, so that was the basic theme, but there are also some "dirty" pops placed throughout.  My husband made the stand for me. He said he is my "master carpenter" (you know, like on Cupcake Wars)
This is the stand with only a few pops on it.

This is the sensored picture of it with all the pops on it. It wasn't really appropriate to post the original picture!

Princess Party

This was a princess party for 8 and 6 year old sisters.  I had never used silver before, but it was alot easier than I thought. Just like painting! I used marshmallow fondant, because kids seem to like the taste alot.
Again, I am not a photographer- especially in a room without a single window to let in some natural light, but I promise the cake was yummy!

Cheesecake

A while ago, my father-in-law asked me why I never make cheesecake. In all my years of baking, I've never even attempted cheesecake. Honestly, I was a bit afraid. I didn't trust that I'd get anything other than a clumpy mess. But, I had the house to myself this afternoon, and went for it.

These pictures are pretty lame, It was dark when I took them, therefore the light was awful. The cake however was not! I am quite proud of my blueberry cheesecake.

Merry Christmas!

It has been quite a while since I've last posted, but I am back! My kids are now on winter vacation, and to celebrate the last day of school for the  year, we sent cake pops to their classrooms. My kiddos felt pretty proud carrying these to their classrooms. (and Daddy to the office).  I felt happy too, eating the leftovers.

Pumpkin Cupcakes

One of the best things about fall is the smell of something spicy and sweet baking in the oven. These cupcakes definitely do the trick. They are the perfect balance of sweet and spicy, with a maple cream cheese frosting. Since this batch wasn't for my family, I had to make more for us the next day. They were pretty awesome.

Halloween cupcakes

I really really love Halloween.......and chocolate. So, I made chocolate Halloween cupcakes.
(or "rip" cupcakes as my 6 year old is calling them)
Hopefully they will taste as cute as they look. (but you really can't go wrong with ganache) In fact, I think I'll go try one right now.......

Bakerella's book signing

I met her! It was like meeting an A list celebrity. Bakerella was one sweet lady...full of energy, and so personable.  She also brought with her Cupcake Julie, who was cool enough to get into the picture.
